These are nominal machine ratings, not guaranteed limits for your parts. Part size, thickness and features are confirmed when we review your drawing.
How it cuts
An enclosed fibre laser with an exchange table
-
Fibre laser
A focused beam from a fibre laser source cuts the sheet. Fibre lasers are well suited to steel, stainless steel and aluminium.
-
Enclosed
The cutting area is enclosed while the machine is running.
-
Exchange table
The next sheet can be loaded on one table while the current sheet is being cut on the other.
What we cut
Flat parts, from simple plates to custom profiles
Common shapes are priced online from their dimensions. Anything else is priced from its cutting details, or quoted from your drawing.
-
Plates and brackets
Base plates, mounting plates, gussets, covers and brackets, with or without round holes.
Priced online from length, width and holes
-
Discs and blanks
End caps, round covers, blanks and spacers.
Priced online from the diameter
-
Rings, flanges and washers
Flanges, washers, rings and spacers, including bolt holes.
Priced online from both diameters and holes
-
Custom profiles
Brackets with cut-outs, panels, signs and any flat shape drawn in CAD.
Priced online from your cutting details or a DXF on your device, or quoted from your drawing
Size and thickness
How big, and how thick
Nominal work area
The machine's nominal work area is 3000 × 1500 mm. A part within it, either way round, can be priced online; a larger part is quoted from your drawing. Very large parts are flagged in the estimate, and their fit is confirmed when we review the drawing.
Thicknesses priced online
-
Mild steel 1.6 to 16 mm
-
Stainless steel 1.2 to 16 mm
-
Aluminium 1 to 12 mm
Each mark is a thickness the estimator prices in at least one grade (the materials page lists them by grade). It is what the online estimator covers, not the thinnest or thickest sheet we can cut, so email us about anything else.
Estimate, then quote
What is priced online, and what the quote confirms
The online estimate covers
- Material for each part, from its net area
- Cutting, from the length of every outline and hole
- One pierce for each outline and hole
- One setup charge per job, and the job minimum where it applies
- GST, shown separately
Not included: finishing, drawing preparation and other non-cutting operations.
Your formal quote confirms
- The price, and the deposit due before production starts
- Stock of the grade and thickness you need
- The practical size and fit of large parts
- Tolerances, edge finish, small holes and fine detail
- Lead time and collection arrangements (collection only)
- Any finishing or other work you ask about
These depend on the part, so they are confirmed for your job rather than published as one number.
Indicative estimate only. Final price and manufacturability are confirmed in our formal quote after drawing review. How estimates, quotes and payment work
